Position Summary

BE Therapeutics is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Associate to support our iPSC platform. The successful candidate will contribute to the maintenance, expansion, and differentiation of human iPSCs. This position requires strong hands-on experience in cell culture and a desire to work in a multidisciplinary, dynamic environment focused on brain repair therapies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and expansion of human iPSC lines under feeder free and xeno-free conditions

  • Support iPSC differentiation into neural, glial, and other cell types using established and evolving protocols

  • Develop and optimize cryopreservation protocols for iPSCs and differentiated cell types

  • Conduct basic cellular characterization (immunocytochemistry, flow cytometry, qPCR, etc…)

  • Maintain accurate and detailed electronic lab notebooks (ELNs) and experimental records

  • Participate in troubleshooting and optimization of differentiation protocols

  • Assist with quality control procedures and sample processing (transcriptomics, proteomics, mycoplasma testing, karyotyping, and viability assays) Assist in maintaining reagent inventory for hiPSC culture protocols

  • Collaborate with team members to ensure experimental timelines are met

  • Adhere to laboratory safety protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs)

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cell Biology, Neuroscience, Stem Cell Biology, Biomedical Engineering, or related field

  • 1–3 years of hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture, ideally iPSCs or ESCs

  • Demonstrated proficiency in sterile technique, cell passaging, and cryopreservation

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Excellent attention to detail and documentation practices

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team

  • Must be able to work in the US. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

    Preferred:

  • Experience with iPSC differentiation to neural or glial lineages

  • Familiarity with microscopy, FACS/flow cytometry, immunocytochemistry or molecular biology techniques

  • Exposure to GMP or translational research environments

  • Interest in neurodegenerative disease research or cell therapy development

  • Previous biotech industry experience is a plus

  • Being currently located in NYC is a plus
